Name, Image and Likeness seems like a great thing for student-athletes to make a little money on the side. Some athletes could be making up to six-figures or more. From what I have seen so far is that most athletes are getting a few small deals per semester. It does not make it up to be a huge chunk of change, but it helps them have some extra spending money. In my opinion, it is long overdue that student athletes get paid for their likeness. The NCAA and universities profit off of these athletes abilities. The school might be giving that particular athlete an athletic scholarship to help pay for school, but times have changed. There is some potential downsides to the new rules. Some schools could have advantages over others because their boosters will pay their athletes more for endorsement deals. This could potentially cause an unfair playing field, but life's not fair.
